    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 88382.

    Transferred to USS Intrepid (CV-11).

    Transferred to U. S. Naval Reserve.

    Transferred to Naval Air Station, Sand Point, Seattle.

    29 July 1950

    Crashed.
    Commander Ralph Milleson made a water landing on Lake Washington following a non-fatal midair collision with another Corsair.

    11 August 1983

    Recovered.
    Recovered for the Navy by Gary Larkin/Air Pirates.

    August 1983

    Restoration started.
    Moved to Boeing Museum restoraton facility at Paine Field.

    To National Museum of Naval Aviation, NAS Pensacola, FL.

    14 June 1984

    Loaned to Museum of Flight, Boeing Field, Seattle, WA.

    Markings Applied: S/89
    Final restoration for static display by John Lane/Airpower Unlimited, Jerome, ID.

    Transported by ground.
