    Constructed as a YB-58A-1-CF by Consolidated at Fort Worth, TX, USA.

    1957

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 55-0663.

    12 March 1957

    Transported by air.
    Carried by A Convair B-36 to Wright-Patterson AFB, OH and used for Static Testing.

    12 March 1957

    Transferred to Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

    12 August 1957

    First flight.

    Circa September 1957

    Transferred to 6592 Test Squadron, Carswell AFB, TX.

    30 September 1957

    Made first B-58 supersonic pod drop.

    20 December 1957

    Made first B-58 Mach 2 pod drop.

    Redesignated as RB-58A.

    Circa 1958

    Testing reconnaissance pod, becoming first RB-58A.

    1962

    Loaned to National Air and Space Administration.

    Used by NASA for sonic boom testing in anticipation of the American SST project.

    Circa 1963

    Converted to a TB-58A.

    Circa 1963

    Transferred to 305th Bomb Wing (Medium), Bunker Hill (later Grissom AFB), IN.

    1969

    Damaged.
    Substantial damage due to cockpit fire.

    January 1969

    Placed on display with Grissom AFB.
    Since B-58 fleet was due to be retired, this aircraft was retired and repaired for display as a gate guard.

    1969

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Air Force.
