    Dates

    Event

Constructed as a F-104C-5-LO by Lockheed at Burbank, California, USA.
First production F-104C delivered to the USAF.

    Circa 15 October 1958

Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 56-0891.

    16 October 1958

To 479th TFW, George AFB, CA.
    Markings added: REALLY GEORGE
First official F-104C delivered to 479th TFW at George AFB. Was painted in an extremely colorful scheme. There was a lot of trouble over this paint job. It seems Lockheed was contacted by Col George Laven JR. from the 479th TFW to paint the F-104 in that scheme for him, but the USAF did not know of it at the time, and when the bill for this extra paint scheme was presented there was a bit of an argument. The first C-model accepted by Tactical Air Command took place at the Annual Fighter Weapons Meet at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas October 15, 1958. This aircraft was named Really George because its home base would be the 479th TFW at George AFB, California.

    Circa October 1958

    Deployed to Moron AB, Spain.

    Circa November 1966

    Deployed to Ramey AFB, PR.

    Circa December 1966

Transferred to 435th TFS, 8th TFW, Udorn RTAFB, Thailand.
    Operated with markings: Snoopy Sniper

    Circa March 1967

    Markings Applied: Nancy J
In addition to Snoopy Sniper, Nancy J was applied to the opposite side. The nickname stemmed from the pilot, Herb Drisco, whose wife was named Nancy.

From January 1968 to August 1975

Transferred to 198th TFS, 156th TFG, Puerto Rico ANG, San Juan IAP, PR.

    11 August 1975

    Last flight.
Flown from San Juan IAP, PR, to Sky Harbor Airport, Phoenix, AZ.
