    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number DEN66D0151: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 09:40 hours. The damage was substantial. Collided with trees while on a low pass. The factors included; down and updrafts. The sky conditions were broken. The ceiling was 5000 feet at the accident site. The visibility was 5 or over (unlimited). The temperature was 26 degF. The wind direction was 225 degrees. The wind velocity was 15 knots. The weather conditions were VFR...

    Alan Eugene Koch comments (21 July 2019): Taken out of service at the Troutdale, Oregon (TTD) airport due to metal particles in the left engine. It never flew another aerial photo mission for the US Forest Service in Portland, Oregon.

It was a freighter with fire bombing operatorHawkins and Powers Aviation, after 20 years with the US Dept of Agriculture. USDA had it fitted with JATO rocketsto assist takeoff from high elevation moutain strips, later using it as a fruit fly sprayer.
