    Constructed as an A-7E.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 160726.

    By January 1980

    Transferred to Attack Squadron 146 (V-146), NAS Lemoore, CA.
    Operated with markings: NG-303

    1980

    Transferred to Attack Squadron 93 (VA-93), NS Yokosuka (NAF Atsugi (and) NAF Misawa).
    Operated with markings: NF-302
    VA-93, along with CVW-5 and USS Midway (CVA-41), were part of a program to permanently assign a carrier and air wing to an overseas home port. MidwayaCOs new home port was NS Yokosuka, Japan, and the squadron would normally operate out of NAF Atsugi or NAF Misawa when the carrier was at NS Yokosuka.

    Transferred to Attack Squadron 22 (VA-22), NAS Lemoore, CA.
    Operated with markings: NH-300

    By May 1990

    Transferred to Strike University, Naval Surface Warfare Center, NAS Fallon, NV.
    Operated with markings: 24, STRIKE
