    Constructed as a Buccaneer S.2B.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n XW543.

    By July 1983

    Transferred to 16 SQN, RAF Laarbruck, FRG.
    Operated with markings: Z

    Transferred to 12 SQN, RAF Lossiemouth.

    14 May 1992

    Written off.
    Suffered a hydraulic failure while returning to Lossiemouth from France. It diverted to St. Mawgan, Cornwall, the pilot - Wing Commander David Bolsover - executed a perfect gear up landing after a total hydraulics failure. With the imminent withdrawal of the type from service, XW543 was not repaired, and was scrapped during August 1992.
