    Dates

    Event

    From 1940 to 1947

    Constructed as a C5 Polar.
Only one aircraft of this type constructed

The aircraft was designed in 1938 after an idea from the pilot Viggo Wideroe and the engineer Birger Honningstad who wanted to create an ambulance aircraft suitable for the Norwegian fjords and the fjord trains. The plane could be used with wheels or floats as well as transporting two lying patients on the back or alternate five seated passengers. When the manufacturing had started, it was calculated that the aircraft would be ready in the summer of 1940, but due to World War II, the work was stopped and the semi-finished aircraft was stored in a lodge at Bogstad. After the war, production was resumed in 1947.

    1948

To Wideroes Flyveselskap with new c/r LN-BDW.

    After 1971

To Norsk Luftartsmuseum (National Norwegian Aviation Museum), Bodo AB (north-East side), Bodo, Nordland.
