    Errol Johnstad and crew brought Race 32 over from Phoenix as a last minute replacement for the newly acquired Lucy P, which encountered some problems. Spring Fever had not been touched since Reno, so i t did not perform as well as usual. The *For Sale* sign was still in place. Competed in the International Formula 1 San Diego event. The primary pilot was Errol Johnstad. Raced in Heat 1A. Finished in 3rd place with an average speed of 199.955 mph. Raced in Heat 2B. Finished in 4th place with an average speed of 197.392 mph. Raced in the Consolation race. Finished in 5th place with an average speed of 189.926 mph.
