    Constructed as a C-47A-10-DK by Douglas at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-92620.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n KG406 as a Dakota III.

    28 April 1945

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was a loss. There were five fatalities. This was a military flight. The accident occurred at 17 km (10. 6 mls) SE off Foreland, Kent (United Kingdom) while en route. Narrative: An RAF Douglas C-47A crashed into the English Channel while en route to Brussels/Evere Advanced Landing Ground B-56 and Nivelles. The aircraft took from its base at 06:33, carrying photographic materials and as lone Nursing Orderly. It was seen to crash into the sea. Although a thorough search was made of the area by a motor launch and a Walrus Air-Sea-Rescue aircraft no trace was found of the aircraft or its crew...
