    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-16803.
    Aircraft originally ordered by USAAF as PT-17, assigned s/n 42-16803, but contract cancelled and plane diverted to Navy order.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 55729 as a N2S-4.

    To unknown owner with c/r N17694.

    Involved in an incident.
    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number MIA66F0135: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 14:45 hours. The damage was substantial. The engine failed or malfunctioned while surveying an area. Collided with trees while on final approach to land. There was complete power loss in the failure of one engine. The emergency circumstances included; forced off-airport landing on land. Incident occurred at or near Tuscaloosa, AL.
