    Crashed.
    There was one minor injury. The accident occurred at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Airport (NY94) Rhinebeck, NY, United States while taking off. The damage was substantial. During the initial climb, about 50 feet above ground level, the engine began to slowly lose power. The pilot attempted to fly a traffic pattern back to the runway, but on a crosswind leg, the engine lost all power. He then performed a forced landing to a parking lot and impacted terrain...

    Notes: The Avro 504K is one of the all-time classic aircraft, with a production run in the thousands at a time when any number greater than 20 was deemed a successful design. This is a 1966 reproduction built for a movie, though powered by an original 1914 110-hp Le Rhone rotary engine.

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Old Rhinebeck Airport (NY94) Rhinebeck, NY, United States while taking off. The damage was substantial. The pilot was performing an aerial demonstration for spectators. Shortly after takeoff, he heard a aCuthump, aC the engine lost power and he performed a forced landing in trees. Post-accident inspection of the wreckage revealed a keeper and cotter pin that connects the push rod to the number 3 cylinder valve rocker arm was missing...
