    Notes: Nov. 21, 1948: The Wee-Bee, at the time the worlds smallest piloted plane. This Beecraft creation weighed 150 pounds, had no cockpit -- the pilot was strapped to the fuselage -- and the landing gear was made out of tricycle wheels. (Associated Press)

    Notes: The original prototyp Wee Bee, build 1948, was destroyed in the big San Diego Aerospace Museum fire in 1978. The replica of the smallest aircraft to carry a pilot was build in 1978 and is now at San Diego, CA.
