    Competed at the California National Air Races in the T-6 class. The primary pilot was Dennis Buehn from Long Beach, CA. Qualified in 14th place with an average speed of 202.627 mph.

    From 12 September 1978 to 17 September 1978

    Raced as #8, named FERTILE TURTLE.
    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the T-6 class. The primary pilot was Dimitry Prian. Qualified in 11th place with an average speed of 202.25 mph. Raced in Heat 1. Finished in 6th place with an average speed of 199.70 mph. Started the Reserve race, but did not finish. Race #8 and race #74 were involved in a mid-air collision at pylon #5. Both aircraft were completely destroyed. Prian was killed instantly.

    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number OAK78DA055: There were 2 fatalities. Incident occurred at 14:36 hours. The airframe was destroyed. Incident occurred at the Reno Stead Airport, Reno, NV. This was a local flight from Reno, NV. Suffered a mid-air collision while in flight. Report remarks include: Collided at pylon during air race.
