    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 48-0260.

    July 1949

    Transferred to 4th Fighter Interceptor Group, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia,.

    December 1950

    Transported by ship.
    Shipped to Japan for service in Korera.

    December 1950

    Base of operations changed.
    Kimpo Air Base, Korea.

    Most of this aircrafts combat missions were against MiG-15s.

    By 1956

    Transferred to 116 Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 141 Fighter Interceptor Group, Washington Ang, Geiger Field, Spokane, WA.

    Redesignated as JF-86A.

    By June 1972

    To Smithsonian, National Air and Space Museum, Paul Garber Facility, Silver Hill, MD.

    Markings Applied: FU-260
    Marked as 4th Fighter Wing, the first F-86 unit in Korea. These markings were in use before June 1952.

    Notes: On display at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, NASM. This Sabre was shipped to Japan in 1950 and flown to Korea. It is painted in the markings of 336th FIS Rocketeers commanded by Lt. Col. Bruce H. Hinton, who was the first F-86 pilot to shoot down a MiG-15 on 17 Dec 1950.
