    17 August 1982

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Bellingham International Airport (BLI) Bellingham, WA, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. While the student pilot was on a cross-country flight, he landed at Bellingham, WA with a 4 knot crosswind. During the landing sequence, the aircraft touched down hard and the pilot lost directional control. He reported that the left gear failed when the plane became sideways.

    Raced as #4, named Four Play.
    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the T-6 class. The primary pilot was N S (Bud) Granley. Qualified in 6th place with an average speed of 220.824 mph. Raced in Heat 1C. Finished in 1st place with an average speed of 221.319 mph. Raced in Heat 2B. Finished in 4th place with an average speed of 215.329 mph. Started the Consolation race, but did not finish.
