    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number LAX76FWA20: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 08:03 hours. The damage was substantial. Incident occurred at the Pebbly Beach Airport, Avalon, CA. The flight departed from Longbeach, CA, with the destination Avalon, CA. There was an unspecified incident on touch down. The factors included; unfavorable wind conditions. The sky conditions were scattered. The visibility was 5 or over (unlimited). The temperature was 55 degF...

    Notes: Beautiful 1938 Golden Age propliner, the first of a series of excellent Grumman amphibians. From all the previous registrations, this aircraft has been around quite a bit and has led an interesting life before retiring to this museum.
