Involved in an incident. After departing Wichita Municipal Airport, Kansas, the right Merlin started to run rough and eventually failing while passing Dodge City. They returned to Wichita for an emergency landing and landed gear down and rolling off the end of the runway without further incident. |

Competed at the National Air Races Cleveland in the Bendix Reciprocating Division race. The primary pilot was Donald Brusart. Raced in the B Feature race. Finished in 4th place with an average speed of 343.757 mph. Finished on one engine. |
