    Constructed as a Wellington IA.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n N2980.

    16 November 1939

    First flight.

    Transferred to 149 Squadron, RAF Mildenhall.
    Operated with markings: R

    18 December 1939

    Flew on a raid to Heligoland Bright where over half of the 22 Wellingtons on the raid were shot down.

    Transferred to 37 Squadron, RAF Feltwell.

    31 December 1940

    During a training flight there was engine trouble resulting in a ditching into Loch Ness.

    1976

    Discovered by the American Loch Ness Monster hunters.

    21 September 1985

    Recovered.

    21 September 1985

    To Loch Ness Wellington Association.

    27 September 1985

    Transported by ground.
    Brooklands Museum, Weybridge.

    December 1985

    Transported by ground. Delivered to Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Airport (formerly), Weybridge, Surrey, England.
    Moved to Weybridge.
