    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was destroyed. There were 24 fatalities. There were 18,299 hours on the airframe at the time. The domestic scheduled passenger flight departed Temuco Airport (ZCO/SCTC), Chile and was destined for Santiago-Los Cerrillos Airport (ULC/SCTI), Chile. The accident occurred at 44 km (27. 5 mls) ESE of Linares (Chile) while en route. Narrative: A Douglas DC-3C passenger plane, operated by LAN Chile, was destroyed when it impacted a mountainside near Linares, Chile. LAN Flight 621 was a domestic passenger flight from Castro to Santiago with en route stops at Puerto Montt, Osorno and Temuco...
