    Remanufactured as a DC-3S.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 51-3817.

    Notes: BuNo 138659 was the initial Navy serial when it was transferred from the USAF on 24July1953. It was renumbered 138820 and carried this BuNo during its Navy service. This aircraft was the original Super DC-3(DC-3S). I photographed the aircraft while I was stationed at NAS Patuxent River MD. It was a. station aircraft

    Redesignated as YC-47F.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 138659 as a R4D-8X.

    Converted to a C-117D.

    7 May 1981

    Transferred to the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposal Center (MASDC) with inventory number 6C0052.

    8 March 1982

    To Clyde E. Foreman DBA, Rockport, TX keeping c/r N117LR.

    8 March 1982
