    First glide flight.

    First flight.
    First powered flight.

    4 June 1971

    Last flight.
    Last flight as X-24A.

    June 1971

    Assigned to Edwards AFB, CA for storage.

    11 October 1972

    Converted to a X-24B.
    Rolled out as X-24B on this date. The bulbous shape of the X-24A was converted into a flying flatiron shape with a rounded top, flat bottom, and double delta platform that ended in a pointed nose. (Baugher).

    15 November 1973

    First flight.
    First powered flight as X-24B on this date.
