    Constructed as a F4H-1F by McDonnell at Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.

    14 December 1960

    First flight.

    22 March 1961

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 148261.

    1962

    Redesignated as F-4A-4-MC.

    By 1964

    Transferred to VF-101, NAS Oceana, VA.

    16 October 1964

    Written off.
    Written off at NAS Key West, FL, USA, while with VF 101.Nose gear collapsed during landing, aircraft caught fire.

    September 1983

    Placed on display with Aviation Historical Park, NAS Oceana (Main Gate), Virginia Beach, VA.
    Preserved at NAS Oceana, Virginia, USA, seen since September 1983, over the years wearing different serials and markings. Was serialledas 152310 with VF-171 markings between 1983 and 1985. In Oct 1989, the correct serial was givenback. Since 1990 was wearing VF-41 markings with fake serial 2689/101. In 2002 it showed a different scheme on each side.
