    Constructed as a C-47B-35-DK by Douglas at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

    New construction number, 33304, assigned to the airframe.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 44-76972.

    7 June 1945

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Australian Air Force with s/n A65-111.
    Used callsign VHR-FY.

    Notes: The Department of Aircraft Production hangars at Parafield carried out major overhauls on military aircraft, mostly RAAF Dakotas, during the decade. A65-111 seen in August 1962 was in the short-lived all metallic silver finish with dayglo orange nose, wing tips and tail, without RAAF titles above the windows.

    10 December 1971

    Involved in an incident.
    The airframe was written off. This was a military flight. Narrative: A fire broke out, damaging the centre section, undercarriage and flaps.

    10 April 1974

    Scrapped.

    1 August 1976

    David Anderson purchased the nose section from Non Ferrals scrap metal yard in Keon Park. It has been restored and mounted on a trailer as a mobile display.
