    Constructed as a L-19A-CE by Cessna at Wichita, Kansas, USA.

    Circa 1950

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 50-1741.

    1962

    Redesignated as O-1A.

    27 June 1974

    Certificate of airworthiness for N73ED {1} (305A, 21483) issued.

    To Air Repair Inc, Cleveland, MS with new c/r N73ED {1}.

    4 August 1984

    Crashed.
    There was one minor injury. The accident occurred at Oceanport, NJ, United States while maneuvering. The airframe was destroyed. Aircraft was involved in banner tow pick-up. On engaging tow, pilot had executed full power pull-up to about 150 feet above ground level when power loss occurred. Pilot performed a forced landing on sandy terrain. Fire broke out on landing roll. Pilot evacuated aircraft successfully but aircraft was destroyed by ground fire...

    Markings Applied: FDD, 5L14981
    Marked as 51-4981 an airframe which, on 30 April 1975, during the evacuation of South Vietnam and flown by a South Vietnamese Major desperate to save himself and his family, landed aboard the USS Midway.
