    Circa 1940

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Aeronautica Militare Italiana with s/n MM5701.

    Transferred to Novi Ligure AB, Italy.

    Transferred to 18 Gruppo.
    Operated with markings: 95-13

    October 1940

    Transferred to Maldeghein, Italy.

    November 1940

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n BT474.

    11 November 1940

    Crashed.
    Forced landing on the beach at Orfordness, England. Tipped over on the nose. It was one of 40 CR-42s on a raid to England from Belgium.

    November 1940

    To RAF Martlesham, Heath.
    Moved to Marlesham.

    27 November 1940

    Ferry flight. Delivered to RAE Farnborough.
    Moved to Farnborough in Italian markings with a Hurricane escort.

    From 27 November 1940 to By 1943

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n BT474.
    Used for flight trials.

    28 April 1941

    Ferry flight. Delivered to No 41 Group, Air Fighting Development Unit, Duxford.
    Moved to Duxford, flown by Wing Commander J E Campbell-Orde. Used at Duxford to develop tactics for use by front-line units. Mock combat was used to develop these tactics against the type.

    October 1942

    To Air Historical Branch.
    The Air Historical Branch requested the airframe for the collection.

    7 August 1943

    On behalf of the owner stored with/at No 16 MU, RAF Stafford.

    From December 1943 to By 1960

    To RAF Duxford.
    Packed at Duxford for museum use.

    9 November 1944

    On behalf of the owner stored with/at No 52 MU, RAF Cardiff.

    Circa December 1944

    On behalf of the owner stored with/at No 76 MU, RAF Wroughton, Wilts.

    August 1946

    Packed for removal from Wroughton.
