Shot down a VPAF MiG-21 over North Vietnam. Crew at the time was Lt. Col. Lyle Beckers (pilot ) and 1st Lt. Thomas Griffin (WSO). The kill is unique in the sense that they used a combination of an AIM-9 Sidewinder and the F-4Es M-61A1 Vulcan gun to bring the enemy jet down. |
