    Constructed as a B-52B-35-BO by Boeing at Seattle, Washington, USA.

    Circa 1955

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 53-0394.

    Transferred to 93rd Bombardment Wing, Castle AFB, CA.

    16 January 1957

    Departed Castle AFB with two other B-52s for first round-the-world, non-stop flight for the heavy bomber aircraft. Was named Lucky Lady III. Refueled by KC-97s.

    18 January 1957

    Arrived March AFB, CA, completing round the world flight.

    Markings Applied: City of El Paso, 30394

    Left in open display for 90 days so removal from inventory IAW nuclear weapons treaty could be verified by satellite.

    Portions of airframe transported to Dugway Proving Ground in Utah for use as targets. Nose section to Walter Soplata collection.
