Report by Bernie Berczyk: In the Late 1950s, as we mapped all of Indo-China, Iran, and Afghanistan while employed by Fairchild Aerial Surveys, and in conjunction with Aero Service Corp., we were known by DOD Acronym, as World Wide Surveys and N66573 painted in Batmobile regalia, as Whiskey-Whiskey Thirty-Three. I have a nice 8 1/2 x 11 photo of her, on a gravel strip in either Iran or Afghan. I was also the individual who visited her crash site in Lolo Natl Forest, West of Missoula/Superior MT in Sept 1998. I am also in touch with other Fairchild crew members.and can be reached at e-mail address, and 242 W. Rose Ave., St. Paul, MN 55117; 651/488-9601.

Further info to the above entry.our mapping was done @ 32,000, which was just enough to clear the Hindu Kush Range in Nothern Afghan.the Russians were mapping at the same time that we were; and we were very careful about turning 180 @ the Northern border, as they had a Sqdn of Mig-21s, just waiting for us to over-fly! Fond memories!.
