    Transferred to Sheppard AFB, TX.
    Assigned as ground instruction trainer.

    Redesignated as GA-7D.

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
    Markings added: MB, AF70 970
    Marked as A-7D flown by Maj. Colin A. Clarke on a 9-hour rescue support mission in Southeast Asia for which he received the Air Force Cross. Was replaced on display by the real 70-0970.

    Notes: This Vought A-7 Corsair II is on display at the Alexander Air Park in Wausau, WI. It was placed here in Aug of 2017. Prior to that, it was at the VFW post in Wausau. (Note: As a young Airman in the Security Police I guarded this aircraft on the ramp at Myrtle Beach AFB, SC, 1975-1977.)
