    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 06624.

    1942

    Transferred to Scouting Squadron 41 (VS-41), USS Ranger (CV-4).
    Operated with markings: 41-S-13

    November 1942

    Flew combat missions in support of Operation Torch invasion of North Africa.

    1943

    Transferred to Training Command, NAS Glenview, IL.
    Sent here after Operation Torch.

    19 September 1943

    Crashed.
    Pilot trainee accidentally switched to a dry fuel tank, lost power on landing, boltered and went over the side of the training carrier USS Wolverine (IX-64) into Lake Michigan.

    Circa 1991

    Recovered.
    Retrieved from Lake Michigan by A and T Recovery by request of the National Museum of Naval Aviation.
