    Constructed as a C-54A-DO by Douglas at Santa Monica, CA.

    Circa 1941

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 41-37315.

    Converted to a MC-54A.

    By 1946

    To Far East Air Transport with new c/r PI-C100 (Douglas C-54A (DC-4), 3106).
    Operated with markings: Miss Luzon

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. There were seven fatalities. The international scheduled passenger flight departed Shanghai (unknown airport), China and was destined for Manila Airport (MNL/RPLL), Philippines. The accident occurred at 130 km (81. 3 mls) W off Laoag, Philippines (Pacific Ocean) while en route. Narrative: An in-flight fire in the no. 2 engine forced the crew to ditch the plane.
