    Constructed as a F-105B-15-RE by Republic at Farmindale, New York, USA.
    Farmingdale factory roll out.

    27 May 1959

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 57-5793.

    28 May 1959

    Transferred to 335th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 4th Tactical Fighter Wing, Eglin AFB, FL.

    One of two F-105Bs used in F-105B Category II testing of air-to-air gunner. During testing, the M61 gun had to be replaced three times due to numerous malfunctions. Unreliable gun installation required frequent gun bore-sighting during the last five months of the test program. (Plunkett).

    26 March 1960

    Base of operations changed.
    Unit moved to Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.

    11 April 1960

    Deployed to Eglin AFB, FL for F-105B Category II follow-up testing.

    2 June 1960

    Transferred to Mobile Air Materiel Area (MOAMA), Brookley Field, Mobile, AL.
    For depot maintenance.

    2 November 1960

    Transferred to 335th TFS, 4th TFW, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC.

    April 1963

    Transferred to 4520th Air Demonstration Squadron (Thunderbirds), Nellis AFB, NV.

    Aside from receiving Thunderbird paint scheme, this plane was to fly slot position; it received stainless steel tail to withstand heat from leaders exhaust.

    May 1964

    Service with Thunderbirds terminated after only six performances.

    1 June 1964

    Transferred to MOAMA, Brookley Field, Mobile, AL for depot maintenance.

    3 June 1965

    Transferred to 4520th Combat Crew Training Wing, Nellis AFB, NV.

    15 December 1965

    Transferred to MOAMA, Brookley Field, Mobile, AL for depot maintenance.

    1 March 1966

    Transferred to 141st TFS (ANG), 108th Tactical Fighter Group, McGuire AFB, NJ.

    3 December 1966

    Transferred to Fairchild Aircraft and Engine Corporation, Bob Sikes Airport, Crestview, FL.
    For contract depot work.

    19 April 1967

    Transferred to 141st TFS (ANG), 108th TFG, McGuire AFB, NJ.

    16 March 1968

    Transferred to Fairchild Aircraft and Engine Corporation, Bob Sikes Airport, Crestview, FL.
    For contract depot work.

    8 July 1968

    Transferred to 141st TFS (ANG), 108th TFG, McGuire AFB, NJ.
