    17 March 1957

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was destroyed. There were 25 fatalities. The official state flight flight departed Cebu-Lahug Airport, Philippines and was destined for Manila-Nichols Air Base (MNL/RPLL), Philippines. The accident occurred at 35 km (21. 9 mls) NW of Cebu (Philippines) while en route. Narrative: Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay boarded his presidential C-47 plane at Cebu for a flight back to Manila (MNL). The airplane took off at night. While the plane was climbing, the spindle drive shaft of the right engine carburetor snapped, causing a power failure...
