    By January 1986

    Transferred to 48th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Langley AFB, VA.
    Operated with markings: LY

    By October 1998

    Transferred to 420th Flight Test Squadron, 412th Test Wing, Edwards AFB, CA.
    Operated with markings: ED AFFTC
    As 412th TW flagship, it performed test support for target aircraft, refueling operations other minor, non-combined test force roles, and was equipped for anti-satellite weapon deployment. (F-15 Eagle at War, by Tyson Rininger).
