    Constructed as a CF-188 by McDonnell Douglas.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Canadian Armed Forces with s/n 188720.

    17 May 1984

    Transferred to No. 425 Squadron, CFB Bagotville, QC.

    From 12 October 1986 to 25 October 1986

    Took part in the William Tell air-to-air weapons meet at Tyndall AFB, FL.

    Transferred to No. 410 Squadron, CFB Cold Lake, AB.

    Markings Applied: 20 YEARS / ANS CF-18 HORNET.
    Wore A special paintjob in celebration of 20 years of CF-18 service with the CAF. Featured the emblems of all CF-18 Hornet squadrons.

    Transferred to No. 425 Squadron, CFB Bagotville, QC.

    16 May 2007

    Damaged.
    Suffered catastrophic failure of left hand engine during air to ground training at Bagotville on 16 May 2007, operated by 425 Squadron. Missing hardware in inlet guide vane arms resulted in low pressure turbine disk separating, with most of it leaving the aircraft. Returned to Bagotville single engine, using afterburner to maintain altitude, and landed without further damage.

    Withdrawn from use.
