Notes: Another long-range international passenger type was the Canadair CL-44, which were used as freighters by the late 1970s.
ANDES Ecuadors HC-AZH was formerly a RCAF Yukon, at the itinerant cargo Customs ramp at Miami in October 1979

Notes: By the late 1970s Electras had become popular as efficient freighters which could avoid airport jet noise curfews.
N5507 was one of Zantop Internationals large Electra fleet.

Notes: Percival Proctor Mk.3 VH-BXQ was one of the last Proctors flying in Australia when it visited a fly-in at Beaufort Vic
in November 1970. It had just been repainted in an attractive maroon and silver scheme

Notes: Another twin tailplane design of the era was the wonderful Beech 18 series. Nearly 9,000 were built between 1937-1969.
Seen at Berwick Vic in February 1975 is VH-FID, a postwar civil production Beech D18S

Airframe: Percival-Hillson Proctor I, s/n P6245 RAF, c/n K.279, c/r VH-FEP
Notes: Grounded Percival Proctor 1 VH-BLC at Dennis Yewers property Yongarloo, Morawa WA in June 1970.
The Proctor was taxied around the farm under its own power, the Gipsy Queen fed fuel from a 4 gallon tin lashed to the stub wing.
It was considered beyond repair, but this is a good news story - the Prcotor was saved and rebuilt as VH-FEP
